Change of Command

Stardate: 20250310.14

On this stardate, we mark a momentous occasion in Kitty Hawk history. Our second Commanding Officer, Fleet Captain John Troan, completed an illustrious ten-year career in the captain’s chair. John has been with the Hawk almost since its launch thirty-five years ago. He’s captained her through high points in her career—the crew has almost doubled with him at the helm—and tough challenges, leading her through the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.

And we welcome our new captain, COL Kelly McDermott, seen at right making his welcome speech to his crew! Kelly has big shoes to fill, but a strong mentorship presence and a crew excited for the next Next Generation of the Kitty Hawk‘s STARFLEET service.
